How much is parking?

Parking starts at $30 for general car parking, motorcycles, RVs, campers, and buses, with the latter two requiring on-site purchase. Up-close parking for cars starts at $50.

Where is accessible parking?

Accessible parking is available directly in front of the main entrance for $30 per car or van. A valid accessible parking permit must be shown to the tollbooth employee. Spaces are limited and may sell out, so arriving early is recommended. Upon arrival, you can request a wheelchair or electric wheelchair to be brought to your vehicle, subject to availability, by notifying a parking attendant.

Is there a place to store my belongings inside the park?

Self-service lockers are conveniently located at the front of the park and may be rented on the day of your visit.

Segways and similar two-wheeled, self-balancing electric vehicles are not allowed due to the park’s pathway configuration, terrain, and large crowds with children and strollers. Instead, electric convenience vehicles (ECVs) and standard wheelchairs are available for rent at the park's Rentals location near the lockers on a first-come, first-served basis.

Does Sesame Place have ATMs?

What is the Cashless Wristband?

A Cashless Wristband lets you make purchases throughout the park without carrying cash or cards. Set up an account using cash or a credit card, and you'll receive waterproof wristbands for your family. Purchases are charged to your account, which settles automatically at the end of the day—a convenient way to swim, slide, splash, and shop worry-free. To sign up, present a credit card to pre-authorize $50; the system reauthorizes in $50 increments as needed. You can also set it up with cash. The service is free to use and hassle-free.

Where does the parade take place?

The parade takes place on the street between Cookie’s Monster Mixer and Sesame Souvenirs.

Can children go to Sesame Place without a parent or guardian?

Guests 14 and younger must be accompanied by an adult age 18 and over. Many rides and attractions have height requirements and children under a certain height will be required to ride with a supervising companion, 14 years or older.

Are pets allowed in Sesame Place San Diego?

Only service animals are allowed at Sesame Place. These include dogs and miniature horses individually trained to assist individuals with disabilities. Service animals must remain on a leash or harness unless it interferes with their work or the handler's disability prevents its use. Owners are responsible for keeping their service animals housebroken, supervised, and under control. If a service animal's behavior poses a threat to others, you may be asked to leave the park.

What if I need to leave the park to get something from my car? Can I re-enter?

Yes, you can re-enter the park on the same day. Keep your admission ticket or Season Pass with you, pass through bag check, and present your ticket at the turnstiles for validation.

Proper swimwear is required on all water attractions—no thong-style bathing suits or cotton/nylon athletic shorts. Swim diapers are required for children who are not potty trained, and water shoes are recommended. Swim masks are not allowed, but swim goggles are permitted and available for purchase. Clothing with explicit or offensive language or images is prohibited. Sesame Place reserves the right to refuse entry or ask guests to leave if these guidelines are not followed.

What are the security procedures upon park entry?

Sesame Place has security measures in place that may cause slight delays when entering the park. All bags, backpacks, and packages will be inspected, and all guests will be screened for prohibited items using walk-through or hand-held metal detectors.

What items are prohibited at Sesame Place?

For the safety of all guests and Ambassadors, certain items are not allowed inside the park, including weapons or items resembling weapons (such as self-defense sprays, pocket knives, toy guns, squirt guns, etc.), clothing with offensive language or images, flags, banners, signs, or amplifying devices used for demonstrations, large markers, permanent pens, and spray paint. Water play toys like inflatables, foam noodles, and Super Soakers, as well as recreational devices such as drones, remote-controlled toys, skateboards, scooters, shoes with wheels, and roller skates, are prohibited. Additionally, alcohol, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and illegal substances are not allowed, nor are glass containers (except small baby food jars) and plastic straws. Fireworks, flammable items, laser pens or pointers, BBQs, picnic lunches, and portable stereos are also prohibited. Items deemed unsafe or inappropriate by security will not be permitted. To help expedite entry, it is recommended that unnecessary items be left in your vehicle. Sesame Place is not responsible for the loss, damage, or theft of items left in vehicles.

Can I bring a wagon?

Wagons that have locking wheels and can be pushed are permitted in the park.

What does admission include?

All slides, rides, pools, shows, and parades are included with park admission. Water attractions are seasonal and all attractions are weather permitting. Cabanas and Front-of-the-Line Passes are available on-site at an additional cost based on availability. Advanced reservations for upgraded experiences are recommended to reserve your spot and can be made on the park's direct website.

Can we rent a wheelchair?

Yes, electric convenience vehicles (ECVs) and standard wheelchairs are available for rent at the Rentals location near the lockers on a first-come, first-served basis. Sesame Place employees are trained to assist with transferring guests to and from wheelchairs, but they are not trained or permitted to lift guests in and out of them.

What is Sesame Place San Diego's line-cutting policy?

Line cutting is prohibited at all rides, attractions, and shows. Engaging in line cutting for any reason may result in ejection from the park, with no refund issued. Line cutting is defined as cutting in front of guests already in line, saving a spot for another guest, or leaving the line and attempting to re-enter at the same point. This includes leaving the line to use the restroom or to place items in a locker. Please make all necessary stops before entering the line.

What items am I allowed to bring with me on attractions?

Loose articles, such as hats, glasses, cameras, and bags, are not permitted on any attractions. Please leave these items with a non-rider or store them in a locker.

Can I use a camera on a ride or slide?

Hands-free cameras may be used on certain attractions at Sesame Place, but all other cameras are not permitted on rides and slides. Hands-free cameras must be secured with a strap or harness, free of sharp objects, and should not impede the rider from maintaining the proper riding position. Head or helmet-mounted cameras are not allowed. Hands-free cameras are permitted on Bert’s Topsy Turvy Tunnels, Ernie’s Twisty Turny Tunnels, Big Bird’s Ramblin’ River, Honker Dinger Dash, Oscar’s Rotten Rafts, and Cookie’s Monster Mixer.

A supervising companion is an individual who is at least 14 years old.

What is Sesame Place's Child Swap program?

The Child Swap program is designed for adults who want to ride with more than one child, but where the ride doesn’t allow the entire party to ride together. At the front of the line, the adult can ride with one child while the other waits with a non-rider. After the ride, the children switch places, and the adult can ride with the other child without waiting in line again. Please note that Sesame Place employees do not supervise children or ride with a child as part of the Child Swap program. The swap must be done by a member of the party to allow the children to ride.
